* Advanced technology for securing the online environment against disruptive attacks from terrorists and organised criminals*
LONDON, 9 JULY 2008: Detica Group plc (DCA.L), the business
and technology consultancy, today announces its plans to develop
40Gbit/s StreamShield cybersecurity sensors for securing the online
environment against disruptive attacks from terrorists and organised
criminals. Detica will be one of the first companies to offer
this high-speed cybersecurity capability to the telecommunications
market.
Deticas new 40Gbit/s interface card for the StreamShield DCI-90
platform will expand its current 10Gbit/s and 1Gbit/s StreamShield
threat detection and mitigation products. The DCI-90 provides the
industrys most comprehensive deep packet inspection capabilities,
complementing the gigabit level streams-based security provided by the
CSG 3100. Detica expects to make the 40Gbit/s StreamShield
sensors commercially available in 2009.
Joel Bagnal, until recently Deputy Assistant to President George W.
Bush for Homeland Security and now Executive Vice President at Detica,
says: Securing the world's information infrastructure from
Internet-based threats is one of the principal challenges today for
both homeland security and telecoms operators. StreamShield
solutions such as the DCI-90 and the CSG-3100 will be critical to
securing the online environment against attacks being mounted by both
terrorists and organised criminals.
With the continued explosion in Internet traffic volumes, 40Gbit/s
is rapidly being deployed at the core of some of the worlds largest
ISPs and Detica is committed to maintaining its lead at the forefront
of high speed network cybersecurity solutions. Following the
integration of the StreamShield business into Detica, the entire
StreamShield product line ─ incorporating DCI-90 high speed sensors and
the market-leading CSG 3100 platform for detection and mitigation of
malicious Internet content ─ will now be enhanced to provide 40Gbit/s
interfaces to the DCI-90.
Commenting on the announcement, Simon Reay, Vice President of
StreamShield Sales, says: We are committed to developing the 40 Gbit/s
sensors in response to strong demand from the telecommunications and
ISP market. Detica will be one of the first companies to offer
this kind of high speed cybersecurity capability which we believe will
play a key role in securing the online environment against those who
threaten the security of the state, the safety of the public, or who
seek to commit serious and organised crime.
