*Revolutionary technology scans internet content at ultra-high speeds*
LONDON, 17 JUNE 2008: StreamShield,
part of Detica Group plc, today announced that O2 (UK) Limited ("O2"),
a subsidiary of Telefonica, has selected the StreamShield Content
Security Gateway solution to provide its customers with a safer,
cleaner internet service for its UK Broadband service.
The
StreamShield Content Security Gateway (CSG) is an advanced
carrier-grade content processing solution designed for high-speed
internet service provider and mobile operator networks. The CSG enables
internet service providers to pipe clean, filtered internet content
directly into homes and businesses without the need for customers to
install any specialised software or hardware on their computers.
"The
StreamShield CSG significantly raises the performance bar for internet
security applications", says John Gorbutt, StreamShield Sales Director.
"As well being able to scan internet content at ultra-high speeds that
have, until now, been unachievable using conventional methods, we have
also designed the CSG so that it can combine technologies from
different vendors into one highly efficient device. We are delighted
that O2 shares our vision of the Internet and we look forward to
working with them in their quest to offer a safer, cleaner internet
service."
Cameron Black, Head of Broadband
Network Design at O2, comments: "After an extensive review of various
solutions we selected Detica because of the unrivalled performance and
high-end scalability that its StreamShield Content Security Gateway
solution delivers."
